Our growth plans are based on a social franchise concept. Are you interested in promoting greater educational and opportunity equality in your area? Then establish your own Hobby Lobby location in your region! We will support you every step of the way.

The idea to establish Hobby Lobby in Romania came from our long-time course instructor Vanessa Tudor, who has Romanian roots and recognised the need for the Hobby Lobby concept in her home country. Together we searched for suitable partners in Romania.

During a visit to Hobby Lobby in Vienna in the summer of 2024, Elena Tănase, who already had extensive experience in the social impact sector, recognised the strengths of the high-quality programme. She saw the potential and benefits that the free programme could bring to children in Romania.

Together with Iulia Chișiu, the team adapted the programme to the local needs of Timișoara and collaborated with like-minded local actors, such as school principals and community centre managers. The pilot phase of Hobby Lobby Timișoara was successfully implemented in autumn 2024. Hobby Lobby Timișoara now offers a space at two locations where children can feel safe to discover new interests.
