Hobby Lobby started in March 2019 in Vienna-Favoriten with a diverse range of courses for children and young people. Under the leadership of founder Rosa Bergmann, seven different courses were offered during the pilot phase, reaching around 100 children and youth. Since 2021, the program has successfully expanded to districts 3, 16, and 20. Another milestone was achieved in spring 2023 with the expansion to Floridsdorf, realized in cooperation with WienZimmer.
Today, Hobby Lobby is an important part of Vienna’s educational and recreational ecosystem. Through strategic partnerships with schools and social organizations and strong community networking in the districts, we are able to reach as many children and young people as possible and offer them free leisure activities. The high demand confirms the need — waiting lists are long, and schools are proactively approaching our team to establish partnerships.
